Oliver also Co-owner with Dean Williams of Elm Street Tattoo in Dallas has been guest spotting once a month since Clay opened the previous location a few doors down back in 2003, and now will split his time as ZZ Top would say, “From Dallas, to Hollywood.”
“The thought never crossed my mind to own True, but when Clay brought it up, and wanted to keep the True name and tradition going, everything just fell into place,” remarks Oliver. True has been a part of Hollywood since Clay opened his first location in 1998 along side fellow tattooer “Small” Paul Stottler and later Jiro from Japan on Orange Ave. He then moved the shop to Cahuenga Blvd with Chris Garver in 2003 and finally to the present location at 1614 N. Cahuenga Blvd in 2005.
True has been home to and hosted artists such Richard Stell, Small Paul Stottler, Kore Flatmo, Tim Hendricks, Nick Rodin, Scott Harrison, Tony Hundahl… just to name a few. The tradition has always been to give people the best tattoos by world class artists, and Oliver plans on keeping the tradition alive.
If you are in Hollywood, make it a point to drop in and check out the latest at True Tattoo.
