Danny Trejo is one of the most easily recognizable tattooed actors of our generation. From Desperado to Heat and his solo film, Machete, Danny’s tattoos are nearly as famous as he is! A big thank you to artist Ettore Bechis for submitting this article to TAM. Enjoy!
For this paint I used basic acrilic color and oil color plus the flash color spectrum formulated by John Howard Sanden “Pro Mix Colors”. Pro Mix Colors consist in 10 colors .
paint the board/canvas with Verdaccio color in acrilic , is a mix of white, yellow, a little bit of black and a dot of red
Transfer your image with carbon paper on the wood board or canvas
Paint the shadow tones with acrilic nutmeg brown and, after, paint the background with oil color.
Paint the shadow tones with “Pro Mix Colors dark 1” with green. The hair is black plus blue.
Paint the transitional half tones with “Pro Mix Colors half tones 2” plus venetian red and “Pro Mix Colors half tones 2” plus red light . “Pro Mix Colors Light 3” for pink tones, “Pro Mix Colors light 3″ plus light red added for healthy looking tones.”Pro Mix Colors Light 3” plus venetian red produces a more subtle shade. For the coolest pink ,use white plus alizarin crimson.
Wait 2 days and restart everything from the step 3. Add detail to the eyes , nose , lips and mustache. Reinforce the Highlights.
