THE 2015 BAY AREA TATTOO CONVENTION

http://https://youtu.be/QNSGlhcNgrM

The 2015 Bay Area Tattoo Convention (BATC) will take place Halloween weekend (Friday October 30, Saturday October 31 and Sunday November 1st) at the SFO Hyatt Regency. Hotel conventions are always fun and a halloween weekend will be especially cool! This will be the eleventh year and as usual, features a stellar line up of invite only, world renowned tattooers. This show was started and is still run by Roman (45s Forever Harley Shop, Strong Tattoo and Strong Shirt Printing) and Taki (State of Grace Tattoo) and keeps tattooing and tattooers as the main attraction. The BATC features NO piercing, bands, celebrity appearances or contests- we are purely a TATTOO SHOW. The number of vendors is kept to a bare minimum of tattooer owned/tattoo supportive companies to insure that tattooers can promote their own t-shirts, prints, machines, and other such wares. This show is about tattooing and puts tattooing first!

-The Bay Area Tattoo Convention always features special events that promote tattooing! This year the highlight event is a seminar by the living legend OG of LA graffiti CHAZ BOJORQUEZ. He will be teaming up with master tattooer BJ BETTS to do what will be a monumental seminar on lettering. The Lettering seminar will be held twice- Saturday at 10am and Sunday at 10am. It is open to the public but ticket purchase (link on website) is required.

We are also proud to be screening the film JUN MATSUI, presented by Sang Bleu and directed by Andre Ferezini, this film profiles Brazillian Jun Matsui- one of the premier blackwork tattooers in the world. The official poster art for this year was painted by Samoan Mike Fatutuo of Sacred Center Tattoo. Roxx of 2 Spirit Tattoo has designed the official t-shirt for the convention. We also have three highly anticipated book releases- The Koji Ichimaru Heads book, Primal Urge– the Marcus Pacheco Book and The Girl Book. The Girl Book will have a special art show of originals accompanying their release.

The Bay Area Tattoo Convention does not rely on pin up contests, performers or other such attractions to draw people, this show is for tattooing and as such, we are supported by the tattoo community itself. The title sponsor of the show is the tattooer owned company BLACK CLAW NEEDLE and you can expect new merchandise and owners Grime and Seth Ciferri tattooing walk ups! 2 SPIRIT TATTOO- a San Francisco institution owned by famed black work master Roxx is our major sponsor. We are also supported by the following sponsors: Lucky Tattoo Supply, Eternal Ink, Raking Light Projects, Bishop Rotary, Last Gasp Books, Sang Bleu, Three Tides Tattoo, Ohana Organics, Strong Shirt Printing, Tattoo Life Magazine, Monmon Cats and of course- us- TATTOO ARTIST MAGAZINE!
