Horrifying Victorian Zombie Tattoos

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies one of the newest comedy horror zombie movies to hit the big screen, following in the footsteps of beloved titles such as Shaun of the Dead and Warm Bodies. The movie is based on a book of the same name that came out in 2009 and is a zombie twist on the 1813 novel entitled Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

Jane Austen’s original 1813 tale has been taught in scholastic English literature programs all over the world about as much as Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. It follows the five unmarried daughters of the Bennet family, primarily Elizabeth Bennet, as they deal with issues of upbringing, morality, education and marriage after Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy move into the neighborhood.

The 2009 novel written by Seth Grahame-Smith did just that and now, seven years later, we have a movie adaptation.

The reviews are already in for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and it’s not looking good. At the time of writing, it holds a 41% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which isn’t likely going to increase over time. But 93% of 19,940 ratings have said they want to see the movie, so hopefully it’s a fun enough time to warrant the ticket.

People love Pride and Prejudice, or at least know about it, and people love zombies. To celebrate both, we’ve decided to show off some Victorian Era zombie tattoos. Maybe the next tattoo you get can integrate some horror elements to your favorite time period for a unique blend of modern and historic imagery. Whether you go that route or not, hopefully the tattoos below will help inspire your next design.
