Lovable I Love Lucy Tattoos

Sarai Tapia

I Love Lucy was a popular black-and-white American sitcom in the 1950s starring Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance and William Frawley. It was the first scripted television program to be shot on 35 mm film in front of a studio audience and won five Emmy Awards in its 6 years on the air. For four of its six seasons, I Love Lucy  was the most watched television show in the United States. Saying “was” probably isn’t right though. The show is still syndicated all around the world to this day and continues to capture the eyes of 40 million Americans each year. It’s regarded as one of the most influential sitcoms in history and been voted as the Best TV Show of All Time by a People Magazine survey. It’s no wonder so many people have stunning I Love Lucy tattoos like the ones in the gallery below.  Read More »

Wondrous Watercolor Mandala Tattoos

Gökhan Beydilli @gokhanbeydilli7

We’ve talked about mandalas and watercolor tattoos before in separate posts, but never together. In fact, they’re actually not common to see mixed within the same design. The mandala is often a rigid geometric pattern, which normally calls for bold lines that aren’t inherent to watercolor style of tattooing. But we think the people featured in the gallery below have pulled off their watercolor mandala tattoos quite nicely. This tattoo gallery just goes to show that anything can be paired with anything else by a talented tattoo artist.  So don’t hesitate to get the tattoo of your dreams, no matter how crazy of an idea it might seem.  Read More »

Sensational Street Fighter Tattoos

The Street Fighter franchise is easily the most beloved, respected and played fighting game franchise of all time. The first title was released in arcades back in 1987 and even to this day the franchise has released many of its titles through arcades in Japan before bringing them to gaming consoles. Street Fighter is a 2D fighting game franchise that pits two players against each other. Each player chooses one of the many characters – each one has a different set of abilities and attacks – and the two players fight until one player’s health bar falls to 0 and loses the game. Street Fighter is largely credited with popularizing the genre and giving rise to the fighting franchise, inspiring other popular titles like the Mortal Kombat franchise. Awesome Ant Tattoos

Ants are six-legged insects that outnumber us all and are seeking to take over the world out from under us right this second! Or not. They are, however, about 99 million years old and over 12,500 different species of ants have been classified (and scientists estimate up to 22,000 species exist). The only place in the world that doesn’t have indigenous ants is Antarctica. Ants have shown the ability to divide labour, communicate between individuals and the ability to solve complex problems – much like human beings. But let’s be honest, you don’t really care about ants as long as they’re not cropping up in your yard, house or biting your ankles. Regardless, here are some pretty badass ant tattoos. Enjoy.Read More »

Killer Kingdom Hearts Tattoos

Kingdom Hearts is a gaming franchise that crosses over a variety of characters from pop culture and throws them all into the same world to interact with each other in various ways. The series centers around character named Sora who’s searching for his friends and ends up meeting a bunch of characters from Disney, Final Fantasy and The World Ends with You. The first game in the franchise came out in 2002 on the PS2 and received critical acclaim, winning numerous awards for “Best Animation” and “Best CG Graphics” – which honestly wasn’t much of a surprise considering it had the full weight of Square Enix behind it. (Square Enix is a game development and publishing company who’s historically been on the cutting edge of CG graphics with their Final Fantasy series. They’ve set the bar for what CG cutscenes should look like in video games numerous times over.) The first title blended action and role-playing themes while putting together a highly praised narrative that mixed Square Enix and Disney characters almost seamlessly. The series left its mark on a generation, which is probably why many people from said gaming generation have amazing Kingdom Hearts tattoos like the ones featured in the gallery below.Read More »

The unique cell-shaded graphics, world and eccentric characters captured the attention of gamers everywhere. There have currently been three main games in the Borderlands franchise and a variety of spinoffs. A fourth main title, which is supposedly meant to be Borderlands 3 (the third main game was a pre-sequel),is expected to be the next major game by Gearbox Software.Read More »

Marvelous Mario Tattoos

If you’ve been closely following the site for the past week or so, then you’ve probably noticed an increased frequency in video game based galleries – the reason for which was explained in a previous gallery. Today, we’re focusing on the highest selling game franchise of all time – Mario. Oddly enough, Mario’s first appearance was in the 1981 game Donkey Kong. In the game, players would control Mario and make their way up towards Donkey Kong by jumping over barrels and climbing up ladders. The point was to save the prince and get a high score. Of course, over years Mario has evolved into the iconic Nintendo figurehead that he is today. The franchise has made Nintendo over a billion dollars alone and continues to pay dividends to this day. People love Mario and all the characters associated with him, which is what you’ll see in the tattoo gallery below. Enjoy.Read More »

Gorgeous Gears of War Tattoos

People forget about the Gears of War franchise when discussing the evolution of video games during the Xbox 360 and PS3 generation. The first title in the franchise, which was called Gears of War (go figure),was one of the first games to see massive interest and usage of online console multiplayer through Xbox Live. For an entire year it was THE go-to shooter for many people on the Xbox 360, before Halo 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare were released in 2007. Unfortunately the popularity of the series quickly tapered off with subsequent iterations as Halo and Call of Duty largely took over the competitive multiplayer shooter space in a gaming generation that would come to be dominated by FPS games. But Gears of War still has massive fans and is getting a new title beyond the original trilogy coming in October of 2016, with a new development team behind it, may revitalize and reshape the franchise.Read More »

It’s been confirmed that they’ve floated around the sea for at least 500 million years and may have been around a lot longer than that. Their design and nature lends itself well to colorful tattoo designs, particularly watercolor tattoos and anything else looking to utilize bright colors.
