Oliver Peck’s annual tattoo feats on Friday the 13th are already the stuff of legend and record (he’s literally in the Guinness book for it). But this year marks the start of a huge development for the event: It will now be a tattoo AND music festival, and Reverend Horton Heat will co-present alongside Peck. The festival goes from Friday, September 13 to Sunday, September 15, and tickets are on sale now. They’re $20 for a one-day pass, $40 for a weekend pass or $100 for VIP, which includes access to a “private club” on Elm Street.
Here’s a few pictures from the madness last night… Enjoy! (Also, look for a complete Friday the 13th article from Oliver Peck in the following days…) (more…)
Ben Nichols: I was in high school. Turned 18 and went down to a crusty old biker’s tattoo shop on Asher Ave. in Little Rock, AR and picked some flash off the wall. That tattoo is now 19 years old and holding up fine… for better or worse.

The Sailor Jerry Airstream is even going to make an appearance. Clear your schedule and get in line early. [Via Sailor Jerry Co. press release]
This post will be much like the Fresno convention, short and sweet! The Fresno convention is one of those rare two-day shows that has all the talent and pageantry of a three-day convention, without the Friday blues that many of us are accustomed to. There are very few shows where you don’t hear at least one person say, “Friday was slow… I’ll kill it on Saturday.” So Fresno just cuts out the Friday complaints and gets right to it on Saturday… [Video on expanded page] (more…)
After a week-long stay in Austin, Texas (ATX) following the Star of Texas Convention, I jumped in a cargo van and drove out to the West Texas Tattoo Convention in San Angelo.
It turned out that a few people from the ATX show also made the scary journey through the west Texas dessert, including Richard Stell, Rock of Ages, Austin Tattoo Co., Electric 13 Tattoo and Triple Crown Tattoo. I’m sure there were others and I apologize for not mentioning you here. (more…)
