Your “not a manifesto” post lit a little fire under me. Ha-ha
All this hoopla about TLC’s new show has really had me thinking about a project I’ve wanted to start for a long time, and with everyone all fired-up, I’m hoping some of you may want to help out…

I think this new tattoo school show that TLC is about to launch is the biggest bunch of bullshit I have ever heard in my 36 years of tattooing. I guess it’s not bad enough that tens of thousands of unqualified, untutored, “wanna be” tattooers have flooded this industry largely due to the bullshit tattoo shows that have already been on TV for years, because they inadvertently encourage people to get in to tattooing by making it look infinitely easier than it actually is… (more…)

After speaking with a network representative this morning, TLC would neither “confirm or deny” the validity of the advertisers listed below. Also included below is a list of e-mails and phone numbers for each executive and director in The Discovery Channel’s Communications Department. TAM urges those contacting employees of The Discovery Channel to be respectful and professional. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle…
It’s almost as if tattooers are evolving, finally able to set aside trivialities in order to agree upon the more important issues. All this TLC outrage is kind of encouraging. Not simply because people are pissed, but because pissed people can affect change.
It reminds me of the “alien invasion” metaphor which, in movie scripts, successfully manages to unite all mankind against the invading forces that threaten humanity’s very existence! A sleepy community wakes up and starts fighting back. The parallels are amusing… (more…)
